Macy’s Theatre of Lights in Old Town Sacramento

We ended the night in Old Town Sacramento by watching the 8th annual Macy’s Theatre of Lights presented by the Old Sacramento Department of the Downtown Sacramento. It was amazing (not to mention it’s free) and I have a lot of photos to share and a video of the whole Sound and Lights Show.

The show started on Thanksgiving and will end on Christmas Eve, Clement Clarke Moore’s classic Christmas poem come to spectacular life on the balconies and facades of Old Sacramento at K Street and Front.

Road trip to Sacramento, California – Day 1

As a kid in The Philippines watching TV Series such as The Beverly Hill Billies and Dallas, I often wondered what the rest of America was like.

I have been fortunate to travel to many places in the world including The Middle East, Europe, Asia and now finally realizing my dream of seeing America by car.

Thai Thip Restaurant in Hurst, Texas

I have been craving for something and couldn’t figure out what, until my friend and I passed by Thai Thip Restaurant in Hurst. I thought, hmm maybe it is a Thai spice I was craving for.  I think it is as I have not eaten a really good Thai food for a long time since last November of 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand (Mali Restaurant, which is for me by far the best Thai Restaurant in the world).

Thai food sounds good and it was around lunch time. Wow! Thai Thip was packed. I’ve never seen Thai Thip this packed. The few times that we’ve been here was either after lunch or before their closing time, and usually there were only few tables occupied (sometimes only us). But not this time.  I am glad.  They have the best tasting Thai Food in HEB area.

Free Internet Speed at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar (Live Blogging)

Being stuck here at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar would be very disappointing if there’s no free wi-fi.  Luckily there is.  What will you do for 19 hours until your next flight if there’s no free internet?  I think I’m going to pull my white hair one by one hahaha.

Jollibee Opening Soon In Dubai Mall

A friend of mine who works as part of a service crew in the Food Court of Dubai Mall, informed me that Jollibee will be opening April 3, 2015.  Anticipating a line of at least 1 kilometer line of Filipino customers, lo and behold the facade was still covered with an “Opening Soon” Sign board.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Bangkok, Thailand

It’s been ages since I have been in one of the tours while traveling.  In fact, I couldn’t even remember when was the last time (was that too long?).  My travel buddy and I usually travel at our own pace, no time to follow, no tour members to think about and no bus/van to catch.  We thought it was more fun and relaxed.  I was alone in this trip and I took part of a group tour that will go to one of the famous Floating Markets in Thailand and since it’s more than an hour drive from downtown Bangkok, I thought it was a wise decision just to be in the van and not worry about the location and the taxi fare that is usually being jacked up if you don’t know how to haggle.  Trust me, I’m the King of haggling but this time, I just don’t need to stress myself and just go with a tour.  It’s time to be just a tourist.

OFW: NBI Clearance Online Application Implemented

As an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), it was always a hassle to apply for a The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance.  It’s wasting one whole day of your Vacation leave.  But with the new implementation of The NBI, you can do the first three steps online (Fill-up Form, Data Check and Payment).  Then just do the remaining steps on your appearance date.
