Bulalo Steak at K Cafe’ in Angeles City

It was past lunch time and I have not eaten yet except for a cup of brewed coffee from home.  Famished and craving for some protein since I started my low carbs diet and thought of driving to the restaurants near where I was.  I went to Quad Nepo in Angeles City and decided to try K Cafe’.  I wanted a steak and was curious with their Bulalo Steak.  I wonder how this meat with big bones can be sliced into a steak size and cooked as a steak.  For all my readers who are not familiar with Bulalo.  Bulalo is the meat and knee cap of a cow and is typically cooked as a soup (Bulalo Soup) and it’s mostly an after party meal.  It is one of the famous dish in the Philippines.

Passport Renewal at the DFA, Manila

Three months prior to my personal appearance at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila to renew my passport, I was checking online to see if I can book a schedule.  Unfortunately, all schedules were taken from February to end of April 2013.  So, the only option I had was to contact a Travel Agency in the Philippines and have them schedule my passport renewal.  I don’t know how they did it but I was told my schedule is confirmed.  I think they have a connection inside the DFA, if not how would they if the online booking was fully booked?

The Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Philippines

I booked a Superior Room online for two days stay and what a surprise it was when I checked in found out that I was upgraded to a Deluxe Room.  Unfortunately, my friend who traveled with me did not get an upgrade.  The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros is a charming medium size hotel opposite of the country’s premier heritage site, Intramuros.  The room is clean and well laid out contemporary design and decorated in an assortment of themed colors.  Mine was in Mint Green.

Online Booking for Boracay Trip with Air Asia

Total of the ticket without add-ons

Too good to be true! Yep, that was I thought when I saw some Airlines with a 1 Peso ticket promotion.  Of course there will be hidden charges and other charges that you’ll encounter once you are about to check out and process the payment.  And if ever there are low price tickets, airline staff, their relatives and friends will be ahead of the line and will sell like a hot cake.  So, the passengers who receive the frequent email newsletter don’t have any tickets to avail. Am I talking about Cebu Pacific?  Maybe, maybe not.  I will leave it at that.

16th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Started Today!

It’s the time of the year again in Clark Special Economic Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.  Although, I’m scheduled to go with my Photography School Friends, I wasn’t able to.  I wasn’t feeling well and had to just sleep it off.  But, there are still three days left with these festivities and I might go in one of those days.  It may take years again to attend this kind of festival in the Philippines so why not grab the opportunity.  Especially I’ll be flying out of the country again for another adventure in life and career.

So, if you read this blog entry and would like to see the Hot Air Balloon Festival, check the schedule below.

X-mas day in Subic

I’m preparing to leave the house now for an overnight stay in Subic.  I don’t know what hotel I will be staying in yet but my first choice was the The Lighthouse Marina Resort but they don’t have a vacant room. Pricy but nice place.

My second choice is Camayan Beach Resort and according to the receptionist that I talked to a while ago they still have a vacant room and I can’t book it online since I lost my Credit Card few days ago along with my wallet. Darn!  He said, it’s first come first serve basis so got to go now to get a room.

I am not familiar with Subic Bay and never been there either but this is the adventure I am looking for.  To go somewhere and find it!   Wish me luck!

Entry to the SEAIR & Microtel Boracay Bloggers’ Tour Contest!

The first time I was in Boracay was three months ago with a friend of mine.  I wanted to impress my friend for taking him to Philippines and the first thing on my mind was Boracay – which is one of the world’s best beach destinations.  It is not just to show the amazing beaches we have in Philippines but to show how beautiful the entire Philippines is, and not just the place but especially the hospitality of the Filipinos.

Clark Airport Expansion Project

(Photo taken from a scratched lens of N97)

Just flew out of DMIA – Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (better known as Clark Airport) in Angeles City to Bangkok, Thailand.  While walking at the Tarmac to board the plane bound to Bangkok, I have noticed that an expansion of the passenger terminal is being constructed.

Boracay Island, Philippines

Airfares and hotel room for five nights stay were booked for the forthcoming trip in Boracay, an Island in the Philippines that was voted for having the best beach in the world.  I’ve seen a lot of beaches (and b!tch*s) in Thailand like Krabi, but this will be my first time to see Boracay and the first time out on a beach in the Philippines for more than a decade, the last time was in Olongapo? Is it still safe to go there in Baloy?  Oh my, that was a long time ago.

I am not expecting too much about this trip so I won’t be disappointed, but let’s see what can the famous Boracay offers. As I am writing this article, twenty four more days to go and I’m getting excited. Well, I’m always excited with all my trips. For me, all my trips are Rest and Relaxation so no expectations (it rhymes huh).

I don’t know Boracay very well except from the comments and suggestions I got from friends who’ve been there and from the forums I have been reading for a while. But here is a factual information I got from Wikipedia, my reliable source.
