Robin Williams, Kid Rock, Miss USA, Lance Armstrong Visit in Afghanistan – The show.

I feel terrible!  Can you believe that I had 3 chances of having a picture with the legend of comedy Robin Williams?  This is what happened.  I gave my DSLR camera to a lady soldier but she cannot figure out how to use it!  I can’t blame her though (some people are not too techy).

But you know, Robin was very accommodating that he even stayed with me for the 3 attempts of the photo shoot and he even gave me a brotherly hug but after the third photo attempt he left.  The soldiers called or even pulled him from the crowd to come inside.  It was snowing and it was freaking cold. And stupid me I didn’t bring my point and shoot camera, and I even forgot that I have a Nokia N95 that has a 5MP camera in my pocket.  Can you believe that?  If I did not forget that I have the cell-cam with me, I have a picture to show here and in my friendster account.  hahaha…. Hey, can you blame me?  I was star strucked.

Man, it’s Mrs. Doubtfire in person.  hahaha

At last, OWWA adjusted the OFW fees!

peso1.jpgIf it was not brought up by Senate President Manny Villar, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will not even think to adjust the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) fees to P42:$1.

Can you believe that even the peso-dollar exchange rate dropped at least P9.00 since January this year, OWWA didn’t even adopt the new rate?  All I can say is DAMN!!!

Robin Williams, Kid Rock, Miss USA, Lance Armstrong Visit to Afghanistan During the Christmas Season

Oh my, I’m so freaking excited!  Robin Williams who played “Mrs. Doubtfire” will be visiting our Afghanistan camp (I won’t disclose the exact place for security reason)  tonight.  He will be joined by the rockstar Kid Rock, Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith, comedian Lewis Black (I wish it’s Jack Black of the School of Rock & Roll flick) and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

The visit will be one of the seven-country tour thanking the deployed U.S. troops for their sacrifice and service.

Yeepee!  Can’t wait ’til tonight. 🙂

Afghanistan Kermit

afghan_frog.JPG

While walking at night, me and a colleague of mine saw an Afghanistan Frog about an inch and a half in size.  Luckily I have my DSLR with me.

I don’t know what kind of frog is this but all I know is that it’s called “Sanbaka” in Afghanistan’s language Parstu-Dari.

That’s all folks.

Ranarios life spared by the Amir!

amir.jpgMarilou Ranario’s (an OFW house maid in Kuwait) life was spared by the Amir of Kuwait – Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.  “Normally, I don’t interfere in the judicial process. But, since you are here to personally appeal for her I will not sign the decree of execution,” Sheikh Sabah told President Arroyo.

For sure the rating of the Philippines President will go up after this personal appeal.  Oh Politics, thou shall not!  hahaha…. Read More

Rome – Season 1 TV Series

rome-1.jpgI just finished watching the whole first season of Rome and all I can say is WOW!

Rome is a historical drama television series and its first season was originally aired on HBO between August 28 and November 20, 2005.

The character that I like most is of Titus Pullo played by Ray Stevenson, portrayed as a friendly, upbeat, doesn’t-care attitude soldier with the morals of a pirate, a total lack of personal responsibility, who discovers hidden ideals and integrity within himself Read More

Martial Law again?

curfew.jpgThe photo says it all.

“Night spots of Adriatico street in Malate, Manila were empty yesterday after the government imposed a five-hour curfew in Metro Manila and nearby provinces” – Philstar.com.

Okay I say no more, I might be suspected as one of the coup plotters and they will hunt me down….

Even if I’m not one of the rebels, I dare you to hunt me down right now!!!  Let’s see if you can come here, remember the $#@%! from DFA imposed the travel ban in Afghanistan?

After this tralala, I wish the US dollar to Peso rate will be higher para sa mga OFW’s.

Where’s George?

 dolyar1.jpg

I heard you!  You were asking what’s the title for.

Okay here it goes.  I was in a store and the cashier gave my change. As I was putting my paper bill on my wallet I noticed a stamp on a one US dollar bill where it says “See where I’ve been, track where I go next.  www.wheresgeorge.com“.

Philippine Passport Online Application

side_salad.jpgI sent an email to this website and a certain Mr. Bryan Zarzuela replied to me promtply and amazingly he answered all my questions.  Don’t you feel good when you inquired to a blog or website and you received a prompt reply?

The reason why I sent an email to this website is that my Philippine passport (anyway, I only have Philippine Passport hahaha) is running out of pages.  I think I only have two pages left though the expiration is on 2009.

Okay let me summarize the information that I got from Mr. Zarzuela so the OFW’s out there can benefit on this. Read More
