“I Have Fallen In Love With The Same Woman Three Times”

You may be wondering about the title. It is a poem written by the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino for his wife former Pres. Corazon “Cory” Aquino who passed away yesterday, August 1, 2009 from a Colon Cancer.  In my own little way I want to give tribute to the first woman President of the Republic of Philippines.

The poem is about the love of Ninoy for Cory in three stages.  The first time was when she was young, the second time was when she bore their first child and the third one was when he was in prison and Cory became the soul of their strength.

It was 1973 when Senator Ninoy was incarcerated at Fort Bonifacio and it was their 19th wedding anniversary. From his prison cell, Senator Ninoy Aquino wrote a beautiful loving tribute to Cory. That he has fallen in love with the same woman three times.  Ninoy was assassinated in 1983 at the formerly known Manila International Airport (MIA) Tarmac and that same airport was renamed Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Then in 1987 the Ninoy Aquino movement headed at that time by Cecile Guidote-Alvarez commissioned Jose Mari Chan if he could set the poem to music.

“I Have Fallen In Love With Same The Woman Thrice” is the final title of the poem after it was turned into a song.

Lyrics and a music video after the jump.

OFW’s Commented! FREEDOM!!!

Two days ago I published an article about an open editorial of an OFW that concerns his freedom to choose which country he’d like to pursue his dreams for his family back home.

AntiTrapo.com received some comments that are worthwhile reading and be published here in my blog.

After reading these comments and as an OFW you may be obliged to comments as well.  And you are welcome to do this here.

Here are some of the comments from some OFW’s.

An open editorial from the “Overseas Filipino Worker for Social Equality” (OFWSE)

Here is an open editorial from a concerned Overseas Filipino Worker in regards with the freedom to choose when the opportunity knocks, whether it’s Iraq, Afghanistan or any country that the Philippine government imposed a travel ban.

I totally agree with the writer, Philippine government should let their citizens choose where they want to work.  If the citizen think that going to these places will provide a better living to their family, then be it!!!

Here is the editorial from AntiTrapo of www.AntiTraPo.com.

At last, OWWA adjusted the OFW fees!

peso1.jpgIf it was not brought up by Senate President Manny Villar, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will not even think to adjust the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) fees to P42:$1.

Can you believe that even the peso-dollar exchange rate dropped at least P9.00 since January this year, OWWA didn’t even adopt the new rate?  All I can say is DAMN!!!

Ranarios life spared by the Amir!

amir.jpgMarilou Ranario’s (an OFW house maid in Kuwait) life was spared by the Amir of Kuwait – Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.  “Normally, I don’t interfere in the judicial process. But, since you are here to personally appeal for her I will not sign the decree of execution,” Sheikh Sabah told President Arroyo.

For sure the rating of the Philippines President will go up after this personal appeal.  Oh Politics, thou shall not!  hahaha…. Read More

Martial Law again?

curfew.jpgThe photo says it all.

“Night spots of Adriatico street in Malate, Manila were empty yesterday after the government imposed a five-hour curfew in Metro Manila and nearby provinces” – Philstar.com.

Okay I say no more, I might be suspected as one of the coup plotters and they will hunt me down….

Even if I’m not one of the rebels, I dare you to hunt me down right now!!!  Let’s see if you can come here, remember the $#@%! from DFA imposed the travel ban in Afghanistan?

After this tralala, I wish the US dollar to Peso rate will be higher para sa mga OFW’s.
