Food Trip: Mali Restaurant – Revisited

Arrived morning in Bangkok on the 17th of September 2009, I and my friend were starving after an almost eight hour flight from Dubai.  We got to the hotel and just changed clothes and went straight to our favorite restaurant in Bangkok, where else?  Mali Restaurant.  This is the restaurant that everytime we are in Thailand, we never missed to visit.

Of course we’ve been welcomed by the American owner Peter and their very nice waiter “Joey” from Burma.

Here are some of the dishes we ordered:

Clubbing at Bed Supper Club, Bangkok, Thailand

Bed Supper Club is a ‘dining in bed’ experience in a futuristic Jetsons like bar. The decor of the club is a shocking white, which gives the place an ambient and classy looking. The interior design and a state-of-the-art integrated sound and lighting system make Bed Supper Club a hotspot not to be missed by the elite and not so.

09-09-09

Well, I always wanted to have an article in this blog every time an unusual date comes like today.  It is September 9, 2009 that is why I came up with the title “09-09-09”.  This date  only come once in a lifetime.  Our lifetime….

This day, I have nothing special to say but just excited that I only have two working days and I’m off to my holiday.  This holiday I will be in Thailand again where I and my best friend will be roaming around Bangkok and Chiang Mai and not to mention three days in Club Noah Isabelle in Palawan, Philippines.  And then a week in Angeles City before I go back to Dubai.

Well, that’s all for now and keep visiting this blog to follow my travel adventures. 🙂

Adventure Thailand ’09 – 2nd day, Flooded Bangkok

(Caption: Lew is enjoying the back ride hahaha)

The series of articles of my adventure in Thailand was put on hold to give way to my trip in Istanbul and Republic of Georgia.  Since I don’t have any latest things to blog about Republic of Georgia, let me go back to my Thailand adventure series.

April 27, 2009 – Like what I have mentioned on my previous blog article (Click here), it was pouring hard outside the Sukhumvit Hospital and the street was flooded at least 8 inches deep.  We were waiting for at least an hour for a taxi but got bored of waiting so we called two motorcycle drivers just to take us to a non-flooded part of Bangkok.  I never thought I will have fun riding at the back of the motorcycle.  It was one of the amazing experiences I had in Thailand.

Here are some of the photos that I took while having that ride.  I only wish that I can upload the video of riding on a motorcycle and the video of rats and cockroaches.  No chance to upload those videos.  I guess next time huh!

Bangkok – Street Foods

After visiting Grand Palace for the 2nd time around, I walked to the streets outside the Palace and noticed that there are lots of Food vendors on the sidewalk.

In this post I will only show the photos since I haven’t tried any of these foods.  Though I was tempted to try what I saw, I got scared, scared of getting some diseases.

More photos after the jump.

Grand Palace, Bangkok – For the 2nd time around

The last time I visited Grand Palace in Bangkok was April 2003, that was more than five years ago.  That was the time I bought my first Samsung digital camera at the Dubai International Airport Duty Free and guess how big the megapixel is?  It’s a whopping 1.6MB hahaha….  Well, during that period only few people have digital cameras and I’m proud to be one of them.

I went there October 14, 2008 and that day was a special day, woke up with a smile hahaha…. After I had lunch in Mali Restaurant I went to the Grand Palace for a visit.  Just an advice for the first time visitors of this country, make sure you visit this place, you won’t regret.  History always speaks for itself.

The Mali Restaurant in Bangkok

October 14, 2008:  It was not my first time in this restaurant, earlier that day I had breakfast with Will who I’ve met the night before in some bar in Bangkok.  Since he’s familiar with the place, I asked him if he knew good restaurants in Bangkok and he recommended me The Mali Restaurant.  Before we parted ways that night, he invited me to have breakfast with him in that restaurant.

While having breakfast, I found out that Will happened to be working with the same company that I’ve been working for the past 4 years.  He’s in Thailand for his scheduled vacation, so was I.  What a small world eh?  Anyway before I get side tracked again with my story about Mali Restaurant, later that day I went back to Mali to have lunch and try their Tom-Yum Soup (my favorite Thai dish).
