Exploring Tenerife

The Canary Islands are some of the most beautiful islands in the world. The Spanish territory has been luring in visitors for many years and is a particular favourite with British tourists. Cheap holidays to Tenerife offer holidaymakers many opportunities including rock climbing, horse riding and windsurfing.

As well as having stunning beaches the island of Tenerife boasts stunning landscapes and magnificent scenery. The rugged landscape of the island lends itself to exploration. Rock climbing has become increasingly popular in the country over the last few years and the country now boasts over 900 routes. The most popular of these is the Canada del Capricho at the base of mount Teide. Climbing on the island is open to all abilities, although some climbs demand experience.

As well as sport activities the island provides many opportunities to keep children entertained; water parks and zoos are scattered across the country. Whether you are on holiday with your children or just looking for a place to relax, Tenerife is the perfect destination for you. The beaches and the hotels compete with other resorts around the world, and the traditional Spanish way of life will have to nipping off for siestas and dancing into the early hours of the morning.

If at any point during your holiday you are at a loss for things to do then why not visit one of the island’s historical attractions or the national park. This island like many of the other Canary Islands has an interesting history, which can be explored on any holiday in the region. Tenerife is home to the Güimar Black Pyramids, which are a testament to the previous inhabitants of the island and are worth visiting. Teide national park includes a huge volcanic crater; the park offers a massively diverse landscape which changes as you move further inland. Centring around the impressive mount Teide the national park is the perfect place to spend the day.

  • I haven’t been to Tenerife since I haven’t visit Canary Islands before. But it seems a good place to visit for a short holiday. I wouldn’t wonder if British tourists highly favored this place because it offers rock climbing, horse riding and windsurfing. I wish I could visit this place so that I could experience rock climbing. Thanks for the insights about exploring tenerife.
