NOT TRUE: Old Green Philippine passport will not be valid starting January 2010

I received an email from my friend Lulu who works in Kuwait, containing an Advisory from Cecilia B. Rebong a Philippine Consul General in New York U.S.A regarding false information on Philippine passports being circulated in the community.  It says that “Green Passport will be honored as a bonafide travel document issued by the Philippine Government until it expires, even if the Machine Readable Passport is already in circulation.”  Click images below to enlarge.

Few months ago I had article about the “Old Green Philippine passport will not be valid starting January 2010” and that article received comments and reactions from some Filipinos.  Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and some of them were right.

The advisory that I received from Lulu was dated 10th of September 2008 and by logging to the Philippine Consul General in New York website, I found the latest Advisory dated 4th February 2009 (see below).  If you’d like to visit their website here it is, www.pcgny.net.

It’s just another contribution to our Overseas Filipino Workers Community.

Hanggang sa muli mga Kabayan. J
